Irrational Fears: Being afraid for my life...
Yesterday, I saw the aftermath of an unrecognizable car that was still smoking as I passed by. No EMS on the scene yet.
I moved with the flow of traffic to get home. I was less than five minutes away, I was going to be sick.
We shall never blog again...
Me said to myself, We shall never blog again until all the stars are aligned in Kenya's world.
Myself said, "Yeah like THAT'S ever gonna happen."
Me, Myself and I have been ill lately. I self diagnosed Myself and have come to the conclusion that...
"A funny thing happened on the way to..."
This week, I am co-hosting Finish the Sentence Friday where the sentence is:
"A funny thing happened on the way to..."
Come link up with us and check out how some other bloggers finished the sentence.
The Science Project Story - Part Three
This story is the continuation and final part about the science project that was due after Christmas break, the science project that I thought we were done with and the science project that ended up winning third place in the 3rd grade at Christopher's school.
That run on sentence was intentional.
So we had to get ready for...
The Science Project Story - Part Two...
The topic was due in a week. The research plan by Thanksgiving and the project itself was due the Monday after the kids returned from Christmas break. This was throwing a monkey wrench in my seasonal timeline.
I needed to get to work!
Whose Science Project Is It Anyway?
Many moons ago, I attended a private elementary school with kids who you'd imagine went on to attend and graduate from Ivy League schools. To say their science projects were nice would be an understatement. They made me want to crawl into the hole my project came out of...
Quality of Life...
Allow me to be completely selfish here and take this post down fantasy lane. Sometimes you just have to daydream while you're grinnin' and bearin' it.
This is a Finish the Sentence Friday post!
Matters of the Heart...
It's that time of year - you know - of the eat right, and do right by your body kind. Sigh. I hate starting over.
This is a story about an event where a potentially healthy recipe meets a compromise in health and marriage.
What would YOU do?
Win, Lose or Draw...
I've lost sleep over this last post of the year thinking about what impression to leave you with.
So about my 2014 blogging goals...
A Christmas Eve Story...
In December of 1977, I had just turned seven years old. A "Baby Alive" doll was on my Christmas wish list.
We had flown to Pennsylvania to visit my grandmother because she was in the hospital and we were flying back home on Christmas Eve.
Here's the Season...
Happy December!!!
Instead of writing new stories this month, I've decided to share a variety of archived stories - one for each day leading up to Christmas.
Here's the thing... I think this will be my blog-advent-tradition.
I caught Santa doing his business...
We were going out of town that year. Santa left something in Christopher's stocking, including this photo. So see, Santa made himself at home while we were gone.
A Christopherism Thanksgiving
My husband and I tried not to get into the spirit of tradition, make gumbo and call it Thanksgiving.
Christopher had other plans for us.
Birthdays, Baking, Basketball & Traveling while Blogging...
I am going to do a little something different in December.
Because there's birthdays, and birthdays and MY birthday and baking, and basketball, AND traveling, I am not going to stress myself out about ...
Easy Carrot Cake made from scratch...

A selfie revelation: It has victory written all over it...
Despite not being a big fan of the outdoors, when I am with nature, I feel closest to God. As I was snapping pictures of myself looking at the sky, I was purposefully trying to capture a, "Are you there God, it's me Kenya" kind of face.
I have one of the Few Good Men...
Once upon a time, my daddy tried to marry me off to my brother's recruiter. On the day my brother's recruiter was coming to the house to meet my parents I happened to be home as well. We all answered the door. I had an attitude about my brother becoming a stereotyped knucklehead Marine...
My Cooking: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
That moment when you know YOU will have to eat the Pinterest meal leftovers. #silentdisapproval.
The Cigarette Man...
It's Finish the Sentence Friday!
"When I was a little kid, I thought... the cigarette man was real."
I shared the original story in May of 2012.
Pinterest Recipes: A Needle in a Haystack...
I have three "food" boards - Recipes I have tried, Recipes I should try and Weight Watchers.
It drives me nuts when I am looking for a recipe that I know I pinned, and of course I'll be looking for it from my phone, while in the parking lot of a grocery store.
