Pros & Cons of a Date Day

How to get new sneakers and not lose weight all in the same week:

I think there's a 12-step program for exercise motivation. Step 1: Buy new sneakers. I don't know what the other 11 steps are.

By the time this blog post is published I hope to have successfully managed all twelve steps. At the moment, my sneakers have only stood in the grass. My excuse was that I had an event to shoot this past Saturday and I didn't want to hurt myself before then. Now I have no excuse.

Week Four Weight Watchers Update

In last weeks update, I had to admit I hadn't lost any weight. I'll tell you how that happens.

See what happened was...

My husband had to drop off his car for service. So that meant I had to follow him. Afterwards he suggests we go to breakfast. I said I could eat at home but I could tell he wanted to hang out. Sometimes we have date days while baby bear is in school. So I reluctantly said yes and started looking up what I could eat at Cracker Barrel because we always eat there. But he pulled into Denny's instead.

I don't eat eggs or breakfast meats, and my pancakes and french toast taste better than any I've had at a restaurant. Denny's Fit Fare menu included meals with eggs and/or meats and I couldn't do a veggie skillet at 8 o'clock in the morning. Plus it had egg whites in it - BARF. So I settled for the prettiest breakfast item on the menu - the Banana Caramel French Toast Skillet!

OMG is was NOT delicious. It's pretty though, isn't it? I ate it anyway and it cost me 23 points - three points less than my daily allowance.

It wasn't that it tasted bad, but if I am going to blow my points on something, I'd rather it be a dessert.

So after blowing it at breakfast, I did it again at lunch - this time on some nasty barbecue chicken. By the time the day was over, I had eaten out three times, had used 64 points and was -10 into my weekly fun points. It was really kind of sad because the -10 was a salad from McDonalds and I didn't use the salad dressing. I hadn't enjoyed what I wasted my points on and then I had to be good for the rest of the week so that I wouldn't gain any weight.

On our date day, we went shopping and eating. I kept my husband from buying a pair of dad jeans, and I got a new pair of sneakers.

And that folks is how you don't lose weight on Weight Watchers and get new sneakers all in the same week.

Here's the thing... next time we take the car in for service, I'll eat a bowl of cereal at home and pack a lunch. This week I did much better....
