I've got a hangover from a blog high...
Sometimes I get on a roll with blogging, and sometimes I get in a bit of a humdrum. Wow that's a word? Spellcheck didn't underline it. Anyway, so as I approached the humdrum at the start of summer I said, "You know what? I'm going to let the posts come to me." I will blog hop sporadically. If completing the prompt slaps me in a face with an idea, I'll be there.
Otherwise I was spending too much time worrying about what I was going to write and getting it done so that I could be first in line. First in line gets the most reads and if you do the right thing, first in line also means returning a lot of favors.
I hadn't set a timer but I said to myself if you can't finish that sentence in 5 . 4 . 3 . 2 . 1 . - ok you can't do that one. Then I told myself you can't struggle with 10 things either, you've either got it or you don't. So then a week went by without me linking up to my favorite blog hops. And the week went by and I hadn't written anything at all and guess what? I survived.
Geez I got off track. I wanted to start off by telling you that I will have a special guest tomorrow. Except for my alter egos Me & Myself, no one else has ever written a post for Here's the thing. I wanted a better build up for that but I'll get to it on Twitter. Just come back tomorrow and then I'll give you another break, deal?
Ok so I just figured out what I am doing right now. I am procrastinating getting to my point because I am rather speechless. I have a leftover headache and my eyeballs still burn from tearing up in the middle of the night.
Yesterday was the best day of my blog life and it was really unexpected. I shared one of my stories with the Our Land series I was a little nervous as the build up started after I introduced the series with The Key to Empathy is Knowledge.
That tweet was followed by a lot of tweetatary and I was kinda like, ut oh are they really going to like it?
Well it was well received. I wrote that all conservative to keep from crying yet AGAIN. To say the least, the amount of likes and comments gave me goosebumps. sniff
The icing on the cake was receiving a very touching and personal comment in my e-mail box. I can't even call it a comment, it was a 420 word personal e-mail. This person found Kristi's blog after searching for specific content and wrote:
"and lo and behold I found Kristi's blog, Finding Ninee...I read your post and here I am".
I read the e-mail, my eyes burned with hot tears and I never really went back to sleep.
Here's the thing... In the words of Forrest Gump, "That's all I have to say about that."
Yesterday was awesome. This morning I just needed to have a journal moment. So let's call this one a brain dump.
