Vacation Memories Captured

I missed blogging all summerJuly because of vacations and other excuses. I hated to miss out on the opportunity to share my happenings a la blog fodder, but I figured a prompt would come around sooner or later and it turns out it's sooner.

This week the Sentence Prompt is "One of my favorite vacation memories..."

One of my favorite vacations this summer was not planned. I'm not a fan of impromptu, so when Papa Bear asked if Christopher and I wanted to come with him to Florida and hang out while he attended a photography seminar, I said, "No."

He asked me the day before he was planning to leave and Christopher and I had just returned from a four-day long weekend in South Carolina. There's a lot a mom has to do to get ready to leave on another trip.

Papa Bear said, "The hotel is on the beach."

'Nuff said.

Pics from my phone...

Packing is so easy when you can give your kid a list for their stuff.

The good slice. "Toljah mine was better."

We ate here THREE times and I had the same slice each time. The second and third time, the two bears followed my lead. Biggie's Pizza, Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

The good slice. "Toljah mine was better."

First time visit to the Windows store. Christopher was in awe.

First time visit to the Apple store. I was in awe!

In awe again. His favorite thing - cars.

Christopher and I hanging at the beach. We stayed ALL day before we found out we were in the wrong chairs

I thought this was hilarious. Christopher did not think it was funny after he realized how long he'd been walking around like that.

We tried to build a moat but it looked more like a full-term belly to me. You had to see the side view. The tide finally came up to the moat but did not go all the way around. When I went walking the next morning, it was still there.

View from our room. After my sunrise walk, I'd go out there with a cup of coffee and breakfast.

I had 4 wonderful walks with the sunrise.

One of my favorite pictures. It's currently my desktop photo.

Love this photo. Papa Bear and I used to live in this city. I used to work downtown and sometimes take walks around this area. Last time I stood here, I know I was wishing for a baby bear.

At the seminar, Papa Bear met up with a couple who had seen Sweet Pete's on Shark Tank. So we went a long with them to check it out.

I called them the modern day Oompa Loompa's.

This container was $10 with as much as you could get in it. I picked one of everything I wanted to try. If I could do it again, I'd get more of the chocolate sea salt caramels and this whole container would be filled with Matcha Almonds. Yum!

We went to a racetrack. Here we were asked to hold up our fingers for what place we were going to come in.

I came in 2nd. Christopher did not think it was cool.

Funny thing that happened on the way to the beach...

:-j

Papa Bear found out he was booked in the wrong hotel, so he had to drive to his seminar. It wasn't a bad thing for Christopher and I to be stranded at the beach.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE VACATION MEMORIES IS...

taking an impromptu road trip, eating pizza, getting in the water, getting completely wet and undone. #lowmaintenancechillin'
