Chasing the clouds away...

“An early-morning walk is a blessing for the whole day. ”

— Henry David Thoreau

He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them — he remains faithful forever. Psalm 146:6

Before this summer, I had NEVER walked on the beach and I had only experienced sunrise on the beach one time, sixteen years ago in Hawaii. Today I have a greater appreciation for God's creation.

My first morning out to watch the sun rise, I was a few minutes late. I jumped up, brushed my teeth and went outside with my pajamas on. The view was breathtaking. I ran back inside to change over to workout clothes and then went for a walk on the beach. That was that day I wrote, "God Is" in the sand.

Away from all the things that had burdened my soul through the news and social media, I felt lifted up. I felt #blessed and in God's presence each morning that I went out. Though the beauty of seeing it live can't compare to iPhone pictures, I took nearly 100 shots of the beach and it was hard to narrow down my favorites.

I can't remember all of my thoughts in my walks and talks with God, but the feeling that comforted me most was knowing that God's blessings are our protection. That's what I have to hope for, have faith in and believe with all my heart.

Today I am sharing 10 bible verses to lift us up and remind us that God Is the ultimate blessing.

10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.   Isaiah 41:10 NIV

1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the dar…

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me. Psalm 138:7

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21 NIV

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 NIV

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

22 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV

New every morning. Isn't that beautiful? If you're feeling cloudy and broken, count your blessings. You are sure to be lifted up when you count God as the ultimate blessing and know in your heart that...

He Is.
