Unplug and Heal

It's been too long since I've written here - 22 days to be exact. I'd had a goal to write one post a week in the New Year. It doesn't feel all that great to fail in January. I've got all sorts of excuses, but one thing I know for sure is that Facebook consumes a lot of time and doesn't necessarily bring much pleasure.

This is my cousin Kamilah

The graphic I used above is her Facebook profile picture.

Last night she posted on Facebook:

Good night moon, good night house.... Good night New Jersey... see you next month

#onemoredayuntilIunplugandheal

"Unplug and heal", I thought to myself. "I need to do that." So I'm going to take a Facebook hiatus for the month that she's gone. I would like to get some time back. I'd like to write. I'd like to read my daily devotionals that I'm already three weeks behind on. That's easy enough.

Kamilah's unplug and heal is quite different.

Facebook status: All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go... I'm leaving on a jet plane... okay I will stop quoting song lyrics.  I leave tomorrow for Washington state to start my journey at The Center - A Place of Hope.

I'd like you to read more about her journey by clicking on the Facebook link below. Please support her by sharing her story. If you're willing, say a prayer for her. And if you can spare any monetary amount, that would be wonderful too.

Every share can raise $37

When I need to relax, I need to unplug!
