Spring Break on Weight Watchers

Week 7 Weight Watchers Update

First off I want to say thank you to whomever is reading this post. I get a lot of visits on Wednesdays. This is my 7th Weight Watchers post and I'll write the last one on the Wednesday following Mother's Day. Because of YOU, it makes me try harder. I couldn't bear to tell you one more week that I broke even and I was really going to be sad if I had to report a gain. So I'll tell you right now, I lost half a pound and I am thrilled!

We traveled for Spring Break. I started off doing very good. Edamame was my mindless munch road snack and I drank water. Going I had a salad from McDonald's. Coming back the be good was gone and I had a wrap, fries and a REAL Dr. Pepper.

I didn't count one thing for Spring Break week. I was MINDFUL. Being mindful is the most important thing I'll have to do once I get to the point of maintaining my weight. I believe Weight Watchers in the beginning is like a boot camp, but eventually trains you to be mindful so you can be disciplined on your own.

I'll leave you this week with an Edamame recipe.

I buy the frozen Edamame from Sam's. It comes in an 8 pack of 8 oz. bags and 8 little packets of Sea Salt.

Cook one in the microwave for 3.5 minutes.

I mix one packet of Sea Salt with 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, and 1/8 teaspoon of chili powder.

When the Edamame is ready, I pour the seasoning over it and then toss it around in a strainer.

If you'd like it spicy, substitute the chili powder for red pepper. The little bit of sugar balances out the flavors. And I don't count the points for 1/2 teaspoon of sugar. I have to draw the line there. The Edamame itself is 3 points.

From the road, "Mom what are eating up there. It smells bad." I tell him what I'm eating and he says, "Can I have some?" /:)

And here's the thing. That's why I put the seasoning on my Edamame because he likes his plain.
