End of summer makes me happy

Dear Thursday - September 4, 2014

Well guess what I learned yesterday? Social media IS a time suck. Duh! I lasted without out it until my son's football practice. I reinstalled my apps before I left home and I was occupied for the entire practice. It didn't stop there. I allowed it to suck up the remainder of my evening and when it was time for me to go to sleep I couldn't. Interesting huh?

The last time I looked at the clock it was midnight. I said to myself, "I've only got five hours left." I still got up and did my workout before six but I know before the day is over, I'll be in a sleepy bad mood.

Today I'm like, do I have to write 400 words? I don't have anything to say. I'd like to write a blog post, I've got some prompts but there's nothing on my mind to contribute.

One is who I would like to trade a day with. No clue there. Another is, finishing the sentence, "At the end of the summer, I always feel..." I'll think on that one.

I guess I'll start that here. At the end of the summer, I always feel happy. The last couple of years anyway. I've read a lot a post about people being sad that summer is over, and that all the kids are going to school - some for the first time. I am not sad a bit. I am happy to get back into a routine that involves taking care of myself a bit more. Mentally and physically. I don't know how to put myself before my son, so when he's here I guess I don't do it to the point of "driving myself irritable."

I swear the best days were the ones that I had like eight hours to myself. I was so ready for my family each day. Those days included a whole bunch of me time. I was much smaller, healthier, happier, and everything was always washed, cooked and cleaned by the time they got home. All I had to do then was be with them. Those were the good old days. That makes me sound terrible I think. I'm not emotional that summer is coming to an end. I'm excited for all of us to get back to our routines.

I'm at 393 words, so by the time I say that I'll be done with today's exercise.

Adios Thursday - well actually I've got to get on with it.
