This day has me breathless already!

Dear Friday,

My husband lit fire under this post. I was just saying to myself I didn't have anything to write and I would do this later. Then my husband called. He left for Charleston, SC yesterday to shoot a couple football teams. He has a friend that lives there. He's hoping one of these years to get the whole league. But for now it was just two teams. They pay for him a hotel room but I still don't think it's worth it in terms of gas spent. Charleston is about 4 to 5 hours from here.

Anyway, a lot of marketing yourself for future business is breaking even in the present. Eventually good work and word of mouth catches up.

So anyway, last night he told me that he was getting on the road no later than 9:00 and he would for sure be here by the time our son got home from school. I was thinking, yay I have the day to myself! I didn't really have any plans. I have a service call in for a dishwasher from 8 to 12 so I would be staying home.

I was trying to decide if I had time for a shower and to shampoo my hair when my husband called. He said the dishwasher guy called him and would be here by 8:45. At the time it was 8:am. So I had time to do what I needed to do.

So I asked my husband who was yawning, if he was headed out. He said, "I'll be home in about 45 minutes." I wasn't surprised. That's how Murphy's Law of Home Alone works. But I said, "What!? What time did you get on the road?" He said he couldn't sleep and he left at 4 something. I really wouldn't have been surprised if I heard the garage door go up as he was saying that. I'll hold him true to his word that he will be home by 9am, which is about 40 minutes from now.

So why waste time rushing and taking a shower when I can relax for a few minutes and write. I made some tea and here I am. Okay so it's 8:23 and the dishwasher guy just pulled up. I could have been in the shower. Murphy can't ever give me a break.

So much for relaxing. I just let in the dishwasher guy and now I feel I'll be at this rush pace for the rest of the day. 8:33 am.
